Essential tips for installing a greenroof:

  • Never pierce or damage the water proofing membrane beneath the green roof system.
  • Make sure all water can drain from the roof and outlets do not become blocked.
  • Always be aware of safety and roof loading restrictions.
  • Ensure plants are watered for the first 9 weeks during establishment.

Boningale Greensky grow a wide range of green roof species to contract, if you require anything that is not in our catalogue please let us know.

Planting technique for survival and aerial perspectives

On low maintenance extensive roofs where good plant coverage is required, arrange plugs by mixing different species together rather than planting single species swathes – this can improve establishment and coverage, and give and overall ‘greener’ effect from rooftop viewpoints.
